Are you considering a move to the vibrant Fraser Valley? Cloverdale, a gem in Surrey, BC, has been gaining popularity, and for good reasons

As a real estate expert with over two decades of experience in this area, I'm excited to share with you the top 10 reasons that make Cloverdale a fantastic place to live.

From its strategic location to its unique community vibe, I’ll explain why this neighborhood might just be your next dream destination.

#1 - Location

Cloverdale’s central position offers unbeatable accessibility. Nestled between Langley and White Rock, it serves as a gateway to diverse experiences.

The ease of traveling to Vancouver via Highway 1, coupled with quick access to Richmond and local airports through Highway 10, makes it an ideal location for both commuters and travelers.

#2 - The Vibe

Cloverdale has grown quite a bit over the last few years. 20 years ago there were a lot of farms around here, and all of those places have been developed into townhomes, single-family homes, etc.

Despite its growth and urban development, Cloverdale retains a charming, laid-back ambiance. The area's transformation from farmlands to residential spaces has been mindful, avoiding high-rise clutter and preserving its "clean" aesthetic.

The upcoming SkyTrain extension along Fraser Highway promises enhanced connectivity while maintaining the neighborhood's relaxed character.

#3 - Transportation

Cloverdale’s transportation network is a commuter’s dream.

The upcoming SkyTrain, bridging Cloverdale and Clayton, will revolutionize local transit, making commutes faster and more efficient.

For those preferring eco-friendly options, the area’s transportation system offers a refreshing break from car dependency.

But let’s talk a little more about this sky train that is coming soon. It’s going to be located just north of Cloverdale and is going to cut right between Cloverdale and the Clayton area, making the commute even quicker.

If you enjoy leaving your car in the garage once in a while, then the transportation system here will please you.

#4 - Parks

Outdoor enthusiasts will adore Cloverdale's array of parks.

We have the Cloverdale Athletic Park which is 20 hectares and has multiple football fields, soccer fields, there’s a water park for the kids, tennis courts, and great picnic areas.

There is also the Bose Forest Park, perfect if you’re looking for a nature walk with trails throughout the old-growth forest in about 10 acres of area.

If you like the outdoor life, you’ll enjoy spending time in these parks.

#5 - Schools

If you have kids, then great schools are important.

Families in Cloverdale benefit from a diverse selection of over 26 schools, offering quality education from elementary to senior years.

These institutions are renowned for their excellent mix of academics and resources, ensuring a bright future for children in the community.

#6 - Amenities

Downtown Cloverdale is a hub of activity, featuring unique shops, boutiques, and restaurants.

The new Cloverdale Rec Center and the upcoming Ice Area, set for completion by 2028, will add to the neighborhood’s appeal.

The Cloverdale Fairgrounds hosts concerts and festivals during the summer for people who love big events.

If you’re into a little gambling, we have the Cascades Casino for gaming and nightlife.

And of course, there are all the other amenities in downtown Survey and Vancouver you can get to fairly quickly. You won’t be bored here.

#7 - Food

The food scene in downtown Cloverdale is a gastronomic adventure.

You’re going to find some cool stuff, like the Vault, the Hawthorne Beer Market, one of my favorites for Thai food that is Ruby, and so many other great options.

#8 - Events

Cloverdale's event calendar is packed with excitement.

The Canada Day celebration, one of the largest in Western Canada, and the Cloverdale Rodeo in May are just a few of the standout events that bring the community together in a display of culture and fun.

#9 - Healthcare

Healthcare in Cloverdale is top-notch.

There are many healthcare options and a new hospital that is being built and will open around 2029.

There’s also the Cloverdale Hospital that is almost finished, the Arch Hospital in the south, and the Surrey Memorial Hospital in the north.

These state-of-the-art facilities ensure residents have access to excellent medical care close to home.

#10 - Tommy’s Jerk Chicken

Tommy's Jerk Chicken deserves a special mention for its mouth-watering dishes.

Located at the end of 180th Street, this eatery is a local treasure, offering an array of jerk-flavored delights only on Fridays and Saturdays.

You need to check this one out because that’s totally one of the top things that I love about Cloverdale and something that is really worth it.

Overrated or Underrated?

Cloverdale is far from overrated. It’s a community rich in amenities, culture, and natural beauty. Its strong sense of community, coupled with the plethora of activities and amenities, makes it an underrated gem in the Fraser Valley.

Whether you're seeking a vibrant community, excellent schools, or an active outdoor lifestyle, Cloverdale offers it all.
